Overview
The BEPS Model 1 is a ground-up Surron Light Bee X build engineered specifically for high-performance road riding.
Starting with a 2023 Light Bee X chassis, the bike was completely rebuilt around a simple objective: transform the lightweight off-road platform into a stable, comfortable, and confidence-inspiring road bike capable of operating at highway speeds.
Rather than chasing maximum power alone, the Model 1 was developed as a complete system. Power delivery, wheelbase, suspension, braking, drivetrain, wheel geometry, and rider comfort were all considered together to create a Light Bee that feels planted and predictable on pavement.

The 81V power system provides a dramatic increase in performance over the factory Light Bee while retaining the tunability necessary to control throttle response, regenerative braking, and overall power delivery.
The upgraded belt-driven primary system maintains smooth and quiet power transfer while supporting the significantly upgraded drivetrain.

The extended swingarm increases the wheelbase and shifts the character of the Light Bee toward high-speed stability. Combined with the upgraded front and rear suspension, the Model 1 remains composed under acceleration while providing a comfortable ride over real-world road surfaces.

The custom Excel wheelset is a major part of the Model 1’s road-focused geometry. The wider 17-inch configuration provides a substantially larger contact patch and a lower, more planted stance than the factory off-road wheel setup.
Braking

Rather than relying on conventional mountain-bike-derived brakes, the Model 1 uses the substantially larger braking hardware from the Surron Ultra Bee adapted to the Light Bee chassis with Prickly Motorsports components.
The result is a braking system better matched to the increased weight, traction, power, and sustained road speeds of the completed build.

The upgraded lighting system improves forward visibility while maintaining a clean, purpose-built installation that complements the Model 1’s road-focused design.
Design
The Model 1 chassis is finished in British Racing Green with gold, black, and deep-red accents throughout the motorcycle.
The color scheme combines a traditional motorsports influence with the exposed mechanical character of the Light Bee platform. The extended chassis, wide supermoto wheels, oversized suspension, and larger braking components also give the finished bike a distinctly different stance from the original Light Bee X.
Build Philosophy
Every major component on the BEPS Model 1 was selected as part of a complete system rather than as an isolated performance upgrade.
Power is supported by braking. Speed is supported by stability. Wider wheels and road tires are supported by suspension designed to keep them planted. The extended wheelbase improves composure while the upgraded suspension maintains the comfortable ride needed for everyday road use.
The result is more than a modified Light Bee X. The BEPS Model 1 transforms the lightweight Surron platform into a full-fledged road bike engineered to remain fast, stable, predictable, and comfortable at highway speeds.
